As in all things, you have to decide what feels right for you. There is no path that everyone is ready for. Norman speaks of Yogananda because he has had communication with him. The last thing that Norman would ever do is deliberately disrespect his beloved teacher. Whatever references he makes to Yogananda are true, but people can only accept what they are ready to accept. Yogananda wished it to be put out the way that it has been. People must make their own choices about what it means for them.
As far as Yogananda authorizing Norman to teach Kriya, although that has also been confirmed since Yogananda's departure from the physical, the original authorization was during the dedication of the Lake Shrine with all of the other brothers who worked on it present as witnesses.
You seem to be sincere and not particuarly biased one way or the other by any emotional judgements, but you just do not feel drawn to what Christ is trying to offer through Norman Paulsen. I hope that I have helped with a couple of the things that you mentioned.
