Well Joe: says the archaeologists and historians who have studied the subject. In other words the people who actually have a good idea of what they are talking about.

No Joe. It fits with what the Bible says. That is what biblical scholars study. As for the "evidence" it depends on what you mean. There is some geological evidence of localised flooding in the Middle East in the period we are talking about, around 6,000 years ago. Whether this is what gave rise to the Genesis story is unknown. However my point is simply that the biblical account is not evidence of a catastrophy occuring 12,000 years ago.
