Yogin,
It just amused me that George Harrison could think of nothing better to do than shout "Hare Krishna" at his attacker. I think you will find that Lord Krishna advised Arjuna to use more practical methods of defense.
There is a story of how Yogananda was once threatened by muggers in America, but conquered them by spiritual means. There are stories of yogi's facing tigers and cobras without being molested due to their spiritual powers, but until we have developed such powers I think there are better ways of defending yourself than shouting "Hare Krishna".
"If someone broke into your home and was threatening your life what would be your reaction? I would hope that I would be chanting the name of the Lord!"
Fortunately this has never happened to me, however I was once attacked and stabbed in the street. I assure you that the language I used to my attackers displayed a far greater Anglo-Saxon eloquence.
