That WOULD have been silly. I think you should read again. (If I "equated" anything, it was the phenomenally void character shared by anesthetia-induced unconsciousness, on the one hand, and well-aimed-blow-to-the-head-induced unconsciousness on the other.)

I don't know how well the mechanisms involved are understood, but I'm not really inclined to research it merely because you are curious. (The internet is apparently as available to you as it is to me.) So I invite you to show me what gap in my argument requires that I enumerate and explicate in recondite detail the mechanisms at work in anesthesia. (Again, as far as I can tell, my argument finds a sufficient ground in the brute fact of physically-induced nonawareness of any sort, whether anesthetic or otherwise.)
