If anyone thinks that Norman Paulsen "lost his way," after leaving the monastery at Mt. Washington, read his latest work called Sacred Science, and make the effort to go meet him in person and "smell the flower" so to speak. He is the genuine article.
As far as Yogananda, it is irrelevant whether or not he chose the moment of his leaving, it is doubtful that he did, but Divine Mother allowed him to go in just the way he desired, with his boots on speaking of India. Nobody is perfect in this dimension of existence, but men and women like him should be honored for what they attained, not picked apart over little details which wither in the brilliance of the Light that they touched.
