...Mr. Ackberali is a Master Designer-who would have ever thought to do crystal detail to match the MW crown-I think Peter could learn from Mr. Ackberali and it is just so encouraging to know that Peter himself is sourcing people to not only develop our reps. but the training team itself. Oh, I am really excited for the next screenings. If last year's 2nd runner up at MT&TW is allowed to compete she will be MT&TW08-Valene has loosen the blocks now it is time to know the wall down at MW and bring the crown back to T&T.

Govt to welcome Beauty Queen home
By Joan Rampersad Monday, December 3 2007
Minister of Community Development, Culture and Gender Affairs, Marlene Mc Donald and Minister of State Donna Cox, along with Parliamentary Secretary Junia Regrello, will all be at Piarco International Airport on Thursday to welcome home beauty queen Valene Maharaj.
Maharaj was, the Trinidad and Tobago’s delegate who placed in fourth at the 2007 Miss World Beauty pageant that was held in Sanya, China on Saturday.
Regrello told Newsday yesterday; “We would be meeting her at the Airport and give her the welcome that she deserves. We will meet today to decide what activities will be planned for that special welcome.”
He added that “Maharaj’s achievement was significant and we are all proud of her.”
Regrello also stated that they will be looking closely at the Ministry’s own readiness to support future delegates and promised to appeal to the corporate community as well. “We need to be pro-active in giving delegates the support they need from day one,” said Regrello.
