Howdy Jo Ann;

Please accept my condolences on the recent loss of your husband. Unfortunately, pancreatic cancer is not currently on the list of presumptive diseases due to Agent Orange exposure (see Gary D. Moore's website at http://www.gmasw.com/ao_info1.htm and, in particular, the page on the 1996 National Academy of Sciences report at http://www.gmasw.com/ao_lst96.htm ). The presumptive diseases are:

Chloracne
Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma
Multiple myeloma

Respiratory cancers:
Lung
Trachea
Larynx
Bronchus

Prostate Cancer
Soft Tissue Sarcoma
Hodkins disease
Porphyria cutanea tarda
Peripheral neuropathy
Spina Bifida in the children of Vietnam veterans
Type 2 Diabetes
Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL)

This doesn't mean that you can't prevail with your claim with the VA, but just that you're going to have a long, hard fight with them. What you will have to show (legally) is an elevated level of the incidence of pancreatic cancer in Vietnam Veterans above that exhibited by the general population who were not exposed to Agent Orange. I don't think that finding three other Vietnam Vets who died of pancreatic cancer is going to prove your case. My advice would be to get in touch with a Service Representative of a veteran's organization such as the American Legion, VFW, VVA, or DAV. Service Representatives are free of charge, well-aware of the most recent laws, and experienced with dealing with the VA. Good luck!
