When you stated that you did not drink much and that you were 23, this reminded me of an observation that I made back then. I was 20 when I went to Viet Nam.

We had a guy in the hangar where I worked that must have been about your age and he seemed much more mature than the rest of us enlisted men (or at least me). Most of us enlisted men, not counting career soldiers and officers, seemed to be about my age.
