The Poem, From The Other Side

The Poem brought tears to my eyes and reminded me that I lost a very dear friend, January 1966, in Viet Nam. He was killed by "friendly fire." I only found that out recently. He was only there a short time, when he was killed and had told me before he left that he knew somehow, that he was not going to come home. I told him NOT to think that way, he would be home and we would be fine together, but he was right....he came home in a casket and I went on with my life. When I found out that he had died, I lost it....I had to have friends take care of me for several days to be sure that I would not do something to myself, so that I could be with him. But now I am happily married and I know that someday I will see Bill again and we will talk and talk about old times. He's a very brave service man and an even braver man. I will always love you Bill.
