Subject: Agent Orange use in guam

Howdy Gene;

You might like to take a look at the following two websites:

http://vietnamresearch.com/agento/ao4.html

http://www.vva209.org/news/story077.html

It seems that you are not alone. Some of the guys who served on Guam even have photographs of the 55 gal. drums that AO came in complete with the orange stripe around the middle. Most of the spraying of AO seems to have been in and around Anderson Air Force Base although it was transported to Anderson by truck from the Naval Support Facility with occasional leaks and spills. The EPA has found very high concentrations of Dioxin in the soil at Anderson. In 2003, the Congressman, Lane Evans (Dem., Illinois) requested the Department of Defense to release information on AO usage outside of Vietnam, but I don't know what became of that. I think that the VA is still dragging their feet on the issue which means that it is up to you to prove that you were exposed to AO. I don't know how you can get in touch with others who are in the same boat that you are.
