Howdy Ken;

Oh boy! That's almost a hopeless task. The 28th Infantry Division was/is a Pennsylvania National Guard outfit (see http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/agency/army/28id.htm). The 28th I.D. didn't arrive in Normandy until June 22nd, 1944 (D-Day + 16). Do you realize how many men are in a division? Try something like between 15 and 20 thousand. And you're looking for a "SGT Mike" who is an octogenerian at least (provided that he's still alive)? Ooh! Good Luck! If you could just get a last name, then it might be possible for his son (as qualifying next-of-kin) to request copies of his father's military records from the National Archives and Records Administration, but unless you have enough information to uniquely determine who "SGT Mike" is, then the task is like looking for a needle in a haystack.
