Subject: I get *#&$^%@ fan email

Gents: You probably won’t be surprised to learn that I personally receive “fan mail” that is often rude, vulgar, disrespectful, hateful, obnoxious, and intolerable of other viewpoints. Generally, I simply delete the email without response. Many stories at VSPA.com and War-Stories.com have been posted for a decade. When Bill Clinton was running for President the first time, he had a controversial moment or two about his military “feelings”. A couple of stories were posted at http://www.war-stories.com/clinton-poss-larry-1-1969.htm and in time, all was forgotten. Frankly, I liked Bill Clinton (didn't vote for him though).

An anonymous e-mailer, a decade later, has taken offense and emailed a somewhat milder version of contempt (this one is gentle by tweeked my id), which I will share with you. I do thank the emailer for writing, as I reviewed the one story and fixed the sound-wav editorial, that wasn’t working, regarding Clinton’s confession to Pot Smoking and "Darth Vader’s" reply to him, at http://www.war-stories.com/clinton-poss-larry-1-1969.htm.

This is not meant to ignite WWIII.

It is always the gutless-wonders who fail to sign their names to their name-calling, indignant, and outraged over something emails. But I have never had a coward before send an hate email timed to the very day that return email is set to expire, hoping to avoid a reply. You are the first to do so:

[Computer PING: "NOTICE: The expiration date displayed in this record "----maui@yahoo.com" is the date the registrar's sponsorship of the domain name registration in the registry is currently set to expire."].

Computer PING on email: As you are enlightened and claim to "... do Bell Misogi every sunday ..." (Incidentally, "Sunday" should be upper case), and one who stands in awe that "... Suzuki Sensei is renowned for teaching and his [bell] ringing ..." I highly doubt you earned the right to offer the marine's greeting of "semper fi". I respect marines enough to respect their term "Semper Fi," an abbreviation of Semper Fidelis, as a greeting reserved for and by marines. I could be wrong about your veteran's status ( ... but I highly doubt it).

I cannot speak for others, but I suppose the easiest way to help you understand when "right wing america" (I am sure you meant no disrespect for this country by being too lazy to capitalize "America") will change their contempt for a President who "loathed the military", or whatever else offends you, and thus reflect your enlightened “real world” bell-ringing "feelings", is to refer you to war poet and author Jackie Kays' response to a similar complaint. Please read Jackie Kays’ comments at: http://www.vspa.com/dab-kays-when-1965.htm. And yes, I "feel" exactly the same way as Jackie, a real American hero and Vietnam War veteran.
