Ok look, Genesis one is NOT AT ALL at variance with Genesis two. If you would take the time to explain this "problem" you have mentioned then maybe it might have some validity but you cannot make this accusation without proof. Now, to SUPPORT my argument -
Your argument, is used a lot. There is no real validity though. See for yourself-
Genesis one is an account of the Creation. It tells of every day that God created, it tells of what He created on that day. It is basically a simple overview of the Creation.
In Genesis two, it moves to a STORY. It is not a change of writers, it is nothing like that. It simply goes into greater detail. As for the complete variance, that is also false.
Genesis 2:1-7 tells of God creating man, then it says in Genesis 2:8-10 "Now the Lord had planted a garden in the East.." that is not a contradiction in the Bible. The Bible did not at all say that he created the garden after he created man, for that would be, but simply that He HAD.
Another one, Genesis 2:18 God wants to make a helper for man(hence the woman) and then the next verse says (Gen.2:19), "Now the Lord God had formed out of the ground all the beasts of the field and the birds of the air.."
This also is not a variance in order of creation for it does not state, AND THEN the Lord God created the birds of air and beasts of the field. No, it says He HAD.
