Hey buddy, i'm Nick. it sounds to me like you already KNOW the truth. or at least a good start. i have a friend that's kinda the same way- we grew up in church together & did everything -then high school came, & to make a long story short, he dropped out of school, he's a partier now, he moved a couple states away,& not where he should be. he KNOWS it all -church, being saved,christian fam, etc, but he soesn't want to try being a christian cuz he know too many people that SAY they are but are hypocrites, & he's determined he'd rather burn before being seen as a fake christian. i don't think this is your exact problem,but just so you know that there's others kinda in that same boat.
To answer your questions though-- why doesn't God talk to you? well, i've heard that a lot.i always ask people Do you take the quiet time to actually listen? today's world is all noise& constant mindnumbing entertainment& we never take a break to get real& hear from God. it's not usually an audible voice, usually just in you. i think sometimes it's like your conscience. i think everybody wonders about that too. also,i think every true christian has had their own times of feeling dirty ¬ knowing God& wondering if he really is real.
Sometimes it really is hard. now that i'm out on my own -at college now- it could be very easy to give up everything i know &blow my life away& sell myself out, but i've made the decision to give my life for God no matter how hard it is or how much doubt &opposition comes my way. it doesn't matter who you know,who your parents are,or anything. only you can decide what your life will or won't be. so just try to be honest w/ yourself& God, man -that's all its about. if you want to e- me, im at nitch_is@hotmail.com . anything i can do to help.
