Assalamu-alaykum wa rahmatullah Brothers and Sisters in Islam

Birth of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam

Excerpt: Just over fourteen hundred years ago in Makkah the people lived in
a state of extreme ignorance, housing the Ka'ba with three hundred and sixty
idols carved out of stone and wood, each household worshipping and praying
to their own preferred idol. Further evil customs such as burying of newly
born girls were very common. The Arabs of the area were often involved in
tribal battles over trivial matters.

It was in this city that the most noble of tribes resided and that tribe was
Bani Hashim, to which belonged the most honourable and respected member of
the Quraish, whose name was Abd-ul-Muttalib. It was decreed by Allah that
Abd-ul-Muttalib was to have a grandson who would come and change the face of
Arabia and the world for all time.

When the child was born, Abd-ul-Muttalib was immediately taken in by the
beautiful countenance of the blessed child. When the members of the Quraish
asked Abd-ul-Muttalib, "What have you named the child?", he replied "
Muhammad". They asked him "But no one has ever had this name before". They
would later realise that there had never been a child like this; a child
whose arrival had been anticipated by the whole of creation.

May Allah ta'ala grant us true respect for His Deen and true love for His
beloved messenger Rasoolullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam.
