Any ideas, especially from someone fairly new, with a fresh perspective on the situation, were valuable. Discussion was useful, productive, and far too often overlooked in war time...

(ooc: I should add.. just so you know.. nothing really to do with your suggestion.. that we have a guard who questions all newcomers. Someone has helpfully volunteered to play guards in both Venyhdra and Tanari and try to wheedle out spies... She is also going to be a friendly 'greeter' and direct recruits or other newcomers in the right direction.. So we can avoid the stressful situation we had before. Okay.. so if you see a stranger talking to newcomers.. don't worry, she is supposed to be there)
