A door slides open down one of the many hallways, piercing the stillness of the ward with a rush of shrieking wind and voices yelling over the storm. A few quick buzzes, equally as loud and the fierce sounds of unsavory weather dissapear. Two men scramble quickly into the door, one setting codes furiously into a palm pad, the other tying off the sealing energy protecting them from the storm outside. A few moments pass in silence, the engineers becoming less frantic and more precise with their touch ups, moving away from the open entrance only when apparently satisfied.
A corridor of blue light-energy streams from the metal entrance, it's walls writhing through it's confined space, forming the arched walkway of protection from the storm outside. The energy movement has the effect of sunlit water, allowing only limited visibility of the howling storm outside.

The engineers, satisfied with their work, turn away from the completeted hallway of energy, tromping wearily down the hall for a rest. One stops briefly at the nurses desk, placing a brief call to the hall, as the other collapses into a chair. A short time later, more people arrive, some carried on stretchers, others nursing minor injuries, though none remain untended for long. The nursing staff swooping down upon the injured and hustling them off to wards for proper treatment and leaving the walkway empty for use.....
