Subject: ·· Impressed...? Still Not. ··
In reply to: Xixini Melee/Lique 37 X 's message, "¤training with Makare is 99.9% listening to her and not having any fun, .1% being bored¤" on 19:26:54 02/27/02 Wed

·· Under sensitive touch the bristling of the wolf is felt and understood. Right off she noticed that this canine was not just an ordinary hound. It did not surprise her that he could be offended be being called a 'dog'. By being called such he was pushed into the category whole. And he far from fit into that category. Soothingly scratching him behind soft furred ears she keeps eyes ahead as she speaks to Xixini. ··

A suggestion. The term 'dog' is unappreciated in present company. It might be wise to keep it out of your vocabulary from here forth.

·· An unimpressed glance is thrown after the small daggers as he tosses them into the wall, sapphire hued orbs frowning at what she considered to be ‘showing off’. As if to prove a point she stepped after him, reaching out a slender hand and pulling the two weapons from his grip, looking them over with a cool, calculating gaze before tossing them with extreme casualness, yet surprising force, off to her right one after the other. The first lands square in the middle of a circular wooden sign placed almost completely on the opposite side of the Square, imbedding itself deep, the other close behind it. But before the second can take its place in the other’s handle Makare ducks down, sliding a sleek, small dagger from the side of her leather boot, digits wrapping around the silver handle. Straightening and turning in a swift motion she tosses the weapon after the other two, greater force put into the toss this time, the pewter blade glinting as it sliced through the air and clicked against the dark handle of Xixini's dagger, shifting it's course upwards slightly and sending it sliding in a few inches above the first. Makare's blade lands itself just in the middle of the other two, barely fitting into the small space. ··

·· With a nod of satisfaction she turns her eyes back to Xixini with a cool gaze. ··

Another suggestion. Don't show off.. If it's meant to impress me, it isn't working.

·· Turning away she strides calmly across the trafficless road, boot heels clicking quietly against the pavement. Reaching out she wraps long fingers around the silver blade of her dagger, pulling it free and sliding it back into the side of her boot. Then pulling the darker handled daggers out she turns back, walking back over to Xixini and handing him his daggers. ··

Oh..and try not to talk so much about trivial matters. Sometimes silence is more welcome than speech.

·· She does not immediately answer his question on the matter of where they were going..seeming to consider the answer to the question before actually replying. ··

Does one always need a destination to be going somewhere?

·· She questions cunningly, curious as to how he would reply. ··

·· The appearance of Sakura was unexpected, but not startling. She had known it was only a matter of time before she made her appearance. The only surprising thing was that she hadn't made it sooner. ··

·· As the group increased in number the woman seemed to be thrown somewhat off ease, her previous relaxed countenance. No longer did was her voice low and assured when she spoke, instead becoming icier and with a mildly agitated edge. ··

No, I will not 'lay off'. If I do then it will lead to the expectation that I will be easy on him in future circumstances and then even more complaints will be made when I try and correct him the following time, and I am hearing more than enough of those as it is now. No. The best way to stop a problem is to never start it.

·· Her eyes frown on the other woman, though expression revealed nothing ··

And I would appreciate it if you wouldn't try and tell me how to train my student. If you disagree with my methods, that fine. But you can keep your opinions to yourself. When I first agreed to train Xixini I warned him that I would not be easy on him. If he can't handle that, fine. That's his problem. He can back out at any time. I could honestly care less. But in the mean time I would suggest you keep out of the way and not interfere.

·· Her words were harsh and biting..crueler than intended. But the younger woman’s contradicting words and she and Xixini's whispers behind her back had grated on her nerves, only adding to her agitation. Turning back to Xixini she now seemed to completely forget about Sakura. ··

First things first. I understand your eagerness to start training. But you must understand that proper training does not consist completely upon physical training. Mental and emotional molding is a very large part of it. And that is the training I think you are in most desperate need of.

·· For a second she hesitated..pondering over her own thoughts once again as she carefully studied him..summing him up as she had done before. ··

I will be blunt. You have some good skills, but be realistic.. Half of them will not come in handy in the situations you are certain to come across while taking part in this war. You are naive, childish, impulsive, and, quite honestly, far from the person you so obviously wish to be. For example, fainting whenever a bullet flies past you is not 'tough' behavior.

·· If one didn't know better one might actually think she was being fairly sarcastic with this last remark, bringing up the happenstance at the Spaceport, repeating his own use of the term 'tough'. ··

But, I will also admit, some of your flaws are also your strengths. Your naiveté will most assuredly get you into some greatly unwanted trouble one of these days, but your trusting nature also can have a tendency to gain..unlikely allies. And impulsive decisions are not always bad decisions. A fair number of such have had positive reactions. But one thing must be made clear. You are allowed to make impulsive decisions..some I understand I will not be able to suppress. But those type of decisions must not be made in contradiction of any other superior officers or me. If you are given the command to stay somewhere you are to stay there, not wander off just because you got bored. Sometimes boredness comes with the job and you are going to have to learn to live with it just like the rest of us. From here forth I will be constantly working with you on these matters, and others. I will help you strengthen your weaker aspects. But you will have to do your part. I will expect you to try your hardest to follow my orders and make good decisions, based on logic and reality. Not emotion and fantasy.

·· Her voice draws out to an abrupt halt, eyes drawn away to a nearby shop, lingering there thoughtfully for a moment before lifting to the sky. By now the golden sun was beginning to disappear behind the orange edged horizon, the far distance slipping into a soft purple sky before drifting into a pale navy. Nightfall was fast approaching..Daytime would soon be completely stolen away. ··

Right now we do not have the time to start on your basic physical training. It's getting late and it would do no good training in the dark. And besides.. I have a few things I must tend to first anyway. We can start first thing in the morning. Meet me right here. Right now though you may go and do as you please. Just stay out of trouble.

·· Soft whistle parts from her lips, a signal to Sceaduw to follow as she moved off in the direction of the shop previously noticed. ··
