Hello Baycityblues!! I am a life long friend of Rhoda's and I'm here visiting with her today. She has been my best friend since 1974 when we were in band together. She doesn't want me to tell you all this story but I'm going to anyway!! We had a hallway of lockers for the band members that ran parallel to the band room and one day after practice she was standing at her locker getting her books when she overheard a "discussion" between two girls who were suppose to be my best friends. They were putting me down over some stupid thing that had happened with one of the boys in the trumpet section. It was just a misunderstanding but for some reason these two "friends" were really putting me down. Needless to say, Rhoda got real pissed and jumped on those two.....they never knew what hit them!! She told them they weren't fit to clean my shoes, let alone be my "friend". At that point, Rho and I knew one another but were not close. After I learned what had happened (several other people were there also) I realized that the one person I needed to have in my corner was Rhoda. She has always been a fighter when it comes to protecting the people she loves and I've been blessed to have her as my best friend all these years. We don't get to spend the time together that we used to since we live 40 miles apart but we talk as often as we can. I am so impressed with all you wonderful people for sending the cards, letters and gifts to her. It has helped tremendously to keep her spirits up and she has all the cards she's received sitting out on top of her dresser and chest of drawers. I've been in other chat rooms myself with some nice people but nothing like she has with all of you!!! What a terrific bunch of people you are!!! Rhoda is doing a little better but her recovery is slow going. She's had a couple of setbacks along the way but I'm sure she'll get through this. She wants me to tell you all thank you again from the bottom of her heart for the outpouring of love and caring that you have all shown her. She also wanted me to thank TJ for setting up the message board for her. We just can't figure out how to get to it or I would have posted this there!!!! I'll be back her on Saturday for another visit and will check on the message boards for her. Also she said to give a BIG HUG to Lisa for keeping everybody informed on her progress. She loves you all and can't wait to be back online but that will still be a few weeks away. Her sitting abilities are very limited. She has a ten inch scar running down her back and a crescent shaped scar on top of her left hip. Its painful to me just to look at it so I can't imagine how she's dealign with this but she's a trooper. I'll try to get back on here on Saturday and pass along any messages she wants to share with you. Until then, Rhoda says BIG HUGS TO ALL!!!!!!!! P.S. Will somebody email her with the address for her message board? For some reason, we can't find it, thanks
