My complaint about Tommy Thomas
I am really at a loss for what to say in this letter, other than to convey my shock. For openers, Tommy Thomas's maudlin, kissy-pooh, feel-good, touchy-feely morals are actually quite unreasonable when you look at them a bit closer. His little schemes are bound to fail. I know because I myself have experienced that personally. I sometimes ask myself whether the struggle to express my views is worth all of the potential consequences. And I consistently answer by saying that he will adopt or abandon any principle to obtain power. Tommy has figuratively enclosed himself in a secure elitist ghetto.

This is not the first time we've had trouble with unsympathetic fanatics, and it certainly won't be the last. Should we blindly trust such unprincipled vicious doctrinaire-types? I had thought the world was free of petulant splenetic slimeballs. So imagine my surprise when I discovered that Tommy wants to deface property with racially and sexually derogatory epithets and offensive symbols. Time cannot change his behavior. Time merely enlarges the field in which Tommy can, with ever-increasing intensity and thoroughness, eavesdrop on all classes of private conversations.

You know what I mean? It should be intuitively obvious even to the most casual observer that he should think for himself. Tommy's contrivances are steeped in insensitive Maoism.

In whatever form it takes -- magazines, music, propaganda, or any other form -- Tommy's rhetoric is designed to vandalize our neighborhoods. Even giving Tommy the benefit of the doubt, each day, I see the world becoming more semi-intelligible as a determined Tommy carries out his egocentric garrulous plans. His cronies internalize and adapt to the unwritten realities they must work under. The reason is simple: The law is not just a moral stance. It is the consensus of society on our minimum standards of behavior. It seems to me that Tommy is both mudslinging-to-the-core and obstinate. Now there's a dangerous combination if I've ever seen one.

I have a dream that my children will be able to live in a world filled with open spaces and beautiful wilderness -- not in a dark, empty-headed world run by immature presumptuous dopeheads. Of perhaps even more concern is that the first response to this from his lackeys is perhaps that we should avoid personal responsibility. Wrong. Just glance at the facts: What he is doing is fetishism in its most self-righteous form. When asked to mend his ways, Tommy will give people a wink and a smile, but when the wheels begin to turn, it's business as usual. Well, let's get our facts straight. Some of us have an opportunity to come in contact with nasty raving cult leaders on a regular basis at work or in school. We, therefore, may be able to gain some insight into the way they think, into their values; we may be able to understand why they want to represent a threat to all the people in the area, indeed, possibly the world. Following this line of logic, it would appear that he has, on a number of occasions, expressed a desire to irrationalize thinking on every issue. On all of these occasions, I submitted to the advice of my friends, who assured me that his "compromises" are somewhere between a scam and a sham. While reading this letter, you may have occasionally asked yourself, "Where is all of this leading?" and, "What is the point exactly?" I deliberately wrote in the style I did so that you may come up with your own conclusions. Therefore, I leave you with only the following: It would be a mistake to believe that Tommy Thomas's viewpoints won't be used for political retribution.
