1) I have PCG-F340 sony vaio. When I install any operating system like 98( non-sony cd), system shuts down - but I can fix this by going into
Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> System -> Device Manager -> System devices and disable
- Advanced Power Management support
- Intel 83271EB Power Management Controller
by going to the bottom of the panel and toggling "Disable in this hardware profile". Do not remove; just disable it.
But the problem here is : I cannot get the RIGHT Drivers - Video/ Display, Modem , Audio.
2) System shuts down after loading Sony 'system recovery CD' - 1 & 2. The above fix does not work here. But I believe all the drivers and applications are getting updated from sony CD.
Any help in trying to retore my system would be a GREAT help.
