I respectfully beg to differ. West will not play center, as we have the two big JUCO's and Colemen to take his place. Thus, the other team's big guy will have to defend these "bigger" guys in the paint. This frees up David to play with his face towards the basket - a departure from his past three years of PT. West, will have to demonstrate his out side shot and driving abilities to the pros. He has not had to do that in the past.

Finn will play, but who knows how much. I don't see him starting just yet. Chalmers is prime for a great year, and I think he would do well at both the point and the 2G. The shooting guard and the small forward are both interchangable in Thad's system. The same goes with the forwards. Calling David West a power forward won't change who is defending him, and it won't change the way that he attacks the basket.

West will not play center, but the other team's best big defender will still cover him for the most part. I also agree with Snipe that West will still depend largely on the same moves that have made him great for the last three years. I still think Finn will get his act together and spend a lot of time at the point with Chalmers spending more time at the 2. Who said poon? Where's the poon? I like poon.

Job #1 against us in the paint is to stop David West, it doesn't matter where he plays. He is an All American, and every coach that we play is well aware of that. The key is to open up space for the new big men when he is doubled up. Playing with a star like West should give them some good looks. Likewise on defense, West is our best big defender. If the other teams star is a power forward or a center, I still expect West to be the man shutting him down.
