Lois, these folks did not expect to keep their agenda secret forever.

By way of secular example, the president let out a real horselaugh when he found out that the court that was supposed to hear the case about his eligibility vis a vis election fraud had dismissed the case on the grounds that the president had already been inaugurated.

You only have to keep it a secret until it's too late.

In the case of the Community of Christ, is it too late?

My opinion is Yes.

But I do like the instruction that a member must contact the First Presidency and complain directly to them. That's like writing a letter to Richard Nixon to ask him whether or not he is a crook.

I can just picture the average German hausfrau going up to Uncle Dolph's office to tell him that she was very concerned about the fact that all her Jewish neighbors had disappeared the day after the "Protection Squadron" came to visit. He would tell her that it was simply a coincidence, and she would have no further legal recourse, since the matter would then be settled.

I do not insinuate that the First Presidency members are National Socialists any more than I suggest that they are Republicans. I merely suggest that a miscreant in high office prefers to deal with single individuals alone, outside of the ken of his fellows and under conditions in which it is easier to play head games with each.

George

P.S. You may be amused by this. When I first typed "eligibility" it came out "elegibility." Even though the latter was a typo, it might adequately represent the nature of the current administration as seen by ordinary Americans -- as the Bible states: "When the wicked rule, the people mourn."
