No, I really don't know anything about that case. Possibly they just wanted to make a point, namely that they could be as mean as possible. Vancouver, Washington was probably the first branch to be attacked. The RLDS leadership possibly wanted to make a point, namely that they could be as mean as possible.

Before all the ugliness started up someone explained that the reason the world church owned the deeds to all the church buildings was to protect the branches from usurpers that might swoop in and try to take everything. Little did the people suspect that the RLDS leadership was in fact the usurpers. Pretty much the RLDS/Community of Christ has been revealed to be atheists, agnostics, liars, and homosexuals. I guess that was the plan all along.
