I find it interesting

On February 7, 1981, a secular newspaper reports that a priest of the CofC was excommunicated for opposing the leadership's ongoing effort to join the National Council of Churches.

And in 1984, a stake president of that same church told Richard Price that he would be defrocked for printing falsehoods alleging that the leadership intended to join the NCC. In fact, of the multiple falsehoods alleged, this "falsehood" was the only one that the stake president identified outright -- and it was known to be true three years before that time.

Yet even now, CofCers are on the internet trying to deny all of this.
