**The woman whispers something to the girl and the girl exits, waiting outside. The woman walks towards the front of the church and begins to pray.**

Dear God,

Please help Nelly get used to this new place. She misses her father and brother very much and moving from a place with an ocean to comfert her to a place where nothing is farmilliar hurts her, especially when people treat her badly for her past. Being half black and half white hurts her, even though she pretends it doesn't. Oh God, please find the light in her and teach her to apriciate everything, instead of looking at all of the negatives.
