The beautiful mare gallops in at a breakneck speed. she is wet with sweat and foam. as she draws near to the end of the forest and enters flower fields, her legs pump even harder. she has been running like this for days and she has thought of nothing but returning to her beloved mate, Flame. She has been gone for months now and her heart aches for the sight of him as she sees the sunlight shine on the crystal clear waters of the stream. She stops suddenly and rears upon muscled legs. she touches the heavens with her muzzle and shrills her call to all of the earth. she is full of fear that her beloved would have lost all hope in her return. Her heart asked if Flame had abanndoned her and come to love sassy and the young colt that was her brothers son. she too wondered if Flame had taken sassy as his mate and head mare in her absence. Stormy scaned the fields for the ebon hues of her mates coat. there! she saw him! he was lying under their favorite tree asleep. she flew past sassy and her nephew as she galloped down the hill to her love. she slowed as she neared him, anticipating his dissaproval and hurt. her beautifly detailed cranium lifted high, she walked nearer to her sleeping king. would he still love her? her heart thudded as she awaited his break from sleep. finaly, so as not to disturb him she lay down near him and drifted into a restles sleep.
