Listening to the man's emotional outburst, her gaze remains lightly upon the surface of her unsipped cup, considering his words with silent deliberation while allowing him privacy from her gaze. She glances up as his words fade, noting the contorted muscles and pained features as he struggles with his inward turmoil. Her voice, though quiet and somewhat cool as usual, offers no pity or condolence, only reasoning and something of reassurance.

"True, we did not do as much damage as was possible for us to inflict, but if you had attempted to, I think we would not be here now. Three or four people attempting an unplanned assault from inside a guarded building of the wealthiest goverment in the system is something of a death wish.
But don't underestimate the power of small feats. You both escaped one of the Federation's most secure locations, without notice and without mass slaughter. They never had a chance to retaliate, and they cannot blame you for the death of their people. That is a major blow to their foundations, and their pride. The officials will be incensed, but some of the lesser staff and the colonists will begin having some doubts about the validity of their government, and their respect twoard the Alliance may rise, if only a percentage point. In a way that is more of a success than a physical or technical assault can ever be. The Federation is not used to being doubted."
Shifting position against the unforgiving metal of the doorframe, she shrugs lightly and takes a sip of the now rather lukewarm coffee.
"You'll get your chance in anycase. There are not so few missions by the Alliance that you would be excluded from participating if you chose to join in. I think more of the Rebels share similar backrounds like yours than you relize."
