The mare trots into the stallion Terrain - upon catching his scent she sweeps her ears back and comes to a halt. She snorts viciously and skakes her sculptured head - pawing the ground with her muzzle tucked to her chin. She fixes her eyes upon the stallion and speaks in a humbly strained voice,
"I would like to live here, in your terrain. I do not need to accept me or make me your mate, and I do not want you to. I do not want to carry your foal and I don't want you to provide for me. I just need a place to stay. If you would rather me gone I will chase another out of their home and take it - but if you allow me to stay here it would spare me the trouble."
Pride grabs her spirit once again and she shoves her nose in the air - she stock still with her legs firmly planted beneath her awaiting his response.
