Speaking to him crisply, she says, "Look, Mister Saleef, I'm offering Shanai for Pampenue and I well plan to go through with it. I'm afraid I have a stubborn streak that seems to show up more than it should, but I find it insulting to be refused. I insist you take Shanai for Pampenue." Looking a little chagrined at her outburst, knowing it would win her an infamous reputation for a princess, she wordlessly dismounts, leading Shanai over and taking Pampenue's reins.

Speaking to him soothingly, she strokes his neck slightly, deciding she should totally retrain him before even attempting to ride. "Thank you," she says quietly to the old worker.
