First Siena gets a #9 seed in NCAA tourney plays #8 Ohio State in Dayton,Ohio and is now in second OT leading by 3 points. Win or lose that is a very good team/program.

Good win for the MAAC. Congrats to the Saints. Good to see a small school knock off an athletic factory like Ohio State.
Back to back first round NCAA wins....quite impressive. Moore, Ubiles, Franklin and Rossiter will be a handful next season, once again and this win will surely lure some good recruits.
McCaffery cinched a big job with that win; but, Siena will re-load as they pay top dollar and will likely get another good coach....but Fran did a great job this year that will be hard to top.

Nice win for the MAAC. Taking nothing away from Siena but, at least for last night, OSU looked more like a mid-pack MAAC squad. Motta, who I have always respected, was totally outcoached by McCaffrey (sp). Most lacking was his inability or unwillingness to adjust to the Siena mid-court press. It is beyond me why he chose not to go over the press rather than to the sides where it was obvious Siena was overextending the wings. Ohio State certainly had the big guy to receive over the middle. Maybe some of the blame falls to the less than talented point for the Buckeyes.
Still a nice win. A shame they have to go up against #1 Louisville on Sunday.

The price of being a 9...they will be good again next year, let's ask for a defeat in the MAAC finals ( to SPC of course ), an at-large for Siena and based on the last two years a 6 or a 7 seed.

While chances of getting past the first round would have been less, going in anywhere between a 10 and 14 seed would have improved their chances of getting to the round of 16,

last time a MAAC team got an at large was 1995 when SPC beat Manhattan in the MAAC final. They were a 13 and won their first round game. We were a 15 and lost to UMass.
