The East Elevator stopped, and X stalked out, searching for any sign of Vile. X decided to power up a suit of armor, and called his fourth armor suit out of memory. It was an incredible suit. It had so much power inside it. The good doctor really came through for him. The suit appeared around his body. It's gleaming white Titanium-X armor reflected the lights overhead. He remembered when he got the armor, just a few weeks ago, during the campaign against the Repliforce. He remembered Sigma...lashing out against the Earth. If only Sigma would stay dead, then they might finally have peace.
X ran forward, to see the tidal pool, and the helpless prisoners suspended overhead. There were only two left. They started yelling as soon as X entered the room. "X, help us!"..."Save us Commander, please?!"..."Be careful X, its a trap!"
Mega Man X analyzed the area, and looked for a way up. His jump boots would allow him to hover in mid-air for a few moments, and if he had to, he could dash through the air, but that just wouldn't be enough to reach them. But then, as he stood there, in the submarine bay, he heard a loud rumble. It sounded like "thuddump-hiss." He heard it again! Suddenly, the sound increased to a steady rumble, and the entire room began to shake. The water started to ripple, and swell. Two large doors split open, and slid aside on the far wall. X could barely hear the door mechanism whine through the oncoming rumbling. Two red lights, shaped like eyes began to glow in the darkness. They were eyes that were narrowed to slits. Eyes which showed anger, and hatred.
Mega Man X knew what it was before he could even make out the shape of it. It was Vile, as always, piloting his latest creation.
As the giant Mecha drew closer to him, it's mighty foot falls caused the ground to quake. X could barely stand still! Finally, the giant Mecha became visible. X could see that it was concealed by a giant black cloak. The cloak went all the way up to the top, and ended in a small hood, which Vile wore over his helmet. The intention was to have his victim think that he was really that big, but X knew better.
Vile's rage consumed him. "X!", he growled, lengthening the word. "Your time has come X! You cannot escape me!" Vile laughed with insanity. "Doppler has given up on you. He has more important things to dealw ith now. So, you are all MINE!"
"Vile! I should have known! Only you would be so heartless. Release those prisoners at once.", X ordered.
"Why don't you MAKE ME!?", Vile replied with indifference.
"You're going down!",X told him, and started to charge his plasma ball. Vile laughed again. "Oh, I don't think so!"
Right when he said that, wall panels flipped open on each side of the room. Suddenly, a blue energy filed shot from one edge of the submarine bay to the other. X was trapped with a wall of blue energy on each side. "This is an energy barrier X. It is used for containment. If you try to touch it, you'll receive a power surge which will kill even you!"
X looked around at the barrier. There was a very narrow space left for him to maneuver. "Is that all you've got against me, Vile?" Vile's eyes glared. Another switch was pressed, and razor sharp spikes fell from the ceiling to hang out ominously, over the combabtants. "Jump too high, and you'll be shredded to pieces!", Vile laughed. "Hmmph! Anything else?", X asked with a sarcastic tone.
Vile pressed another switch on his remote trigger. Blue energy suddenly raced over the back wall, the far wall, and the ceiling. "You've got no where to go X! If you touch the walls, you'll be fried with a stun charge. It isn't as lethal as the containment walls, but it will be enough to knock you unconscious."..."Oh yeah! For how long long?", X asked. "Long enough for me to flatten you!", He told X.
"Alright, I get the idea. Are you done playing yet?"
Vile dropped the remote to the floor, and his mighty Mecha went forward and smashed it under foot. "There's no way out X!", Vile seethed. "You're not getting away this time!"
"Come get me!", X taunted. Just then the giant Mecha's arms ripped the cloak apart. It burst in half, hitting the beam walls on either side. The cloak was immediately discintegrated by the intense heat. "This is the Giga Mech. It makes the Goliath look like a toy. Razor Mantis made it just for me!", Vile told him. "Aww, isn't that sweet?", X said with a cocky frown. The Giga Mech was almost 3 times the size of X. It was all black, with gray panels. It also had two ominous looking arms, which were studded with a bed of long, lethal spikes. The arms rotated in half turns, as Vile powered up the Mecha. "Let's finish this!", he told X.
"Bring it on!", X told Vile. (to be continued)
