As soon as RX had removed the core suddenly the lights went out and then suddenly the back up lights came on in red in most of the complex. Given the massive amounts of energy emitted from a fusion generator Wily had decided to use it to power most of his fortress.
Some area's had their own generators and there was still back up power in the area's missing one. To the surprise of the attacking hunters forces, who were now inside the fortress, the defenses stopped working and shut down. They saw this as their oportunity to make a strong advance and they pushed their way further into the base.
Zero had already made his way deep into the complex, being followed a short way behind by a small number of hunters who had managed to break trough. As Zero walked trough the long corridoors, which were mostly abandoned, other than the odd security patrol, he began to get some strange flashbacks and feelings of familiararity(sp?). Not of this particular place, because up until this point he had never been to this installation.
However, specific design traits on the structures and his enemies. Certain types of computers and models of construction that could be found nowhere else but Zero's dreams. He pondered this fact heavily as he began to get several flashes of the past, mostly stuff from his dreams, but now they were much clearer. He could almost make out the face of the man in his dreams...the man with the mustash. Then to his surprise, the familiar "W" ensignia, Zero knew for sure that this symbol had only ever existed in his dreams. Until now.
Zero looked to a nearby Hunter
Z: Something is not right about this place...its like I know it, even though I have never been here...
Hunter: Well, when someone has been in as many battles as you I suppose the batte field is not important, only the goal, so they all bgin to look alike.
Z: Thats true to a degree...but this is different, its more like I'm familiar with the architecture and designs of this place, rather than its actual layout or location...its difficult to explain...
H: Hmmm, I have no Idea what to say...
Z: Its not important...we have two main objectives:
1: The destruction of this unknown force the capture
2: The capture of Ryujin X.
H: I've heard of him, he was a very powerful hunter so I've heard, aparantly he left the hunters by choice for some unknown reason...
Z: He is quite powerful and not to be taken lightly, remember if you see him, call me. Its not worth risking your life over.
H: Yes but I've been wondering something, why are we considering him hostile? and why capture him? more importantly why did a SA class hunter suddenly decide to leave?
Z: The exact reason for his leaving is still a mystery to me as well, I think Signas might have some Idea but so far none of us have been informed. RX always did keep to himself.
As for our objective, I don't know and to be honest I don't care. We've been assigned a mission and I intend to carry it out. Its not our place to question orders, our job is to carry them out, nothing more.
H: Thats true, sorry if I stepped out of line
Z: Not at all, its only natural to be curious, especially when we are given almost no information.
H: Here is something I have been wondering about, how come the power suddenly went in most places just now?? do you think maybe RX did it? and is really on our side after all?
Z: Thats a large assumption to make bassed on little evidence, but I too wonder why the sudden power outage happened, however I think its more likely that the other invasion force from Dopplers Island has taken it out.
H: Hmmm, probably...
Z: Why do you seem so reluctant to believe that RX could be our enemy, especially with everything that has been going on? Magma Dragoon? the Repliforce incident? not to mention all of the hunters who have gone Maverick in the past.
H: Well you will probably think this is silly...but right now I'm with the legendary SA Class hunter Zero, you are said to be one of the most powerful Hunters ever, that is amazing, but the chance to meet 2 SA class hunters in one day?? that would be amazing!!! I've watched the entire Doppler tournament, all the way up until Doppler kicked out all media.
Some of the battles were amazing, my favourite was Kaiser, who later turned out to be Ryujin X!! I was so amazed!!! His fight with Phase Beatle was amazing!! You were in that Tournament too right? You took a bat bite on the shoulder??
Z: Yeah...in fact this may surprise you but it was thanks to RX's DNA that I survived. You see I was infected by a new strain of the Sigma virus, however this particular on ewas modified to systematically shut down the systems of anyone infected. Somehow, I'm still not sure why, but RX's DNA had resistance to this particular strain. We had a copy of his DNA on file and used it to formulate an antidote.
H: Wow!! thats amazing!!!
Z: Whats even stranger is that a short time later a sample of his DNA was stolen by an unknown assailant, and we are still unsure why. He had a breif run in with a new hunter who shows great promise called IO. Who fought him but he got away using a surprise attack.

H: Thats really interesting....
Z: Heh, I like you, whats your name?
H: Sonic Blade
Z: Interesting name...
SB: Its because I have energy blades mounted on my arms and I'm an unltra speed type, so I move exceptionally fast for close range bladed combat, thats what I excell in. But I also have this small cannon on my shoulder, for emergencies, no buster though.
Z: Well, Sonic Blade, good to meet you, your skills will be invaluable in this battle. But do not engage RX.
SB: Understood Sir!!
Zero began to walk on ahead pondering the reasons behind RX's leaving the hunters, his battle techniques and the strange familiarity as he moved further into the complex...
At the same time Grizzly Slash ans his small force of hunters were making their way trough the compledx and nearing Zero's position....
