Sisters,
Before I begin, I would like to thank the 6 people who did attend Fridays meeting. Unfortunately, this was obviously not enough to have a meeting. I must say that I am extremely disappointed in the attendance, or shall I say lack of attendance, that has occured for the summer meetings. When meeting dates were originally voted on, only one person spoke out about a problem, but in the end the vote passed. I am aware that there are sisters who truly could not attend, however, I am also aware that there are sisters who could have attended, but decided that there are other things that they would rather be doing than sit in a Tau Beta Sigma meeting. If all sisters had this attitude, we would never be able to hold any meetings, and eventually, we would no longer have a chapter at UCF. I would be lying to say that nothing was accomplished on Friday. We were able to speak openly about our concerns from past years, and what we would like to see happen in the following year. I simply wish that you all could have been involved in this conversation. My fear is that Friday's meeting is a sign of what the next year holds for us. I truly hope that you will all be more "active" than you have chosen to be over the summer. While there are many other things that I wish I could say, I am choosing to stop here, before I type anything that may cause negative feelings toward myself or the sisterhood. I ask that you just stop and think about what it is that YOU would like to see come from the following year. Then realize that the sisterhood must come together as a whole in order for us to accomplish our goals.
