I apologize that I could not attend the meeting yesterday, I heard it went well. Valerie told me that you went ahead and voted on my life membership status and that I was approved. I just want to send out a great big thank you and I love you to all the sisters who were on favor of this, or if was unanimous, everyone who was at the meeting. I really wanted to be there so that I would have the opportunity to tell you my reasons for desiring life membership, but thank you for trusting me.

I know I don't know all of you very well or I don't get along with all of you, but we are all sisters united in a common bond with a love of music and service, and I love you all. Being in the situation that I am in (packing up all my stuff and moving far away from everyone I know, the only person I know is John, I have to make all new friends) I really wanted to be able to call on my roots and my associations and hopefully meet some teachers (and other people too!) in the area that I share the bond with. I also wanted the opportunity to join the alumni association so that I will always be able to keep in touch with other alumni and meet new alumni from across the country.

One of my favorite memories of being an active member of TBS was 2 summers ago when I was chosen as the delegate to national convention and I met tons of people. Meeting people with whom you instantly have a bond is truely my favorite priviledge of being in the bond. I do plan to attend conventions in the future, too, although I cannot attend this summer's national convention. In the off chance that no one from Zeta Psi can attend the national convention when it is held (wherever) and I am planning to go, life members are allowed to sit as delegates for their collegiate chapter, and I would be honored to help the chapter out in such a situation. And if I ever decide to go back to school, I can join the local chapter, well if I do band things.

TBS has made such an impact in my life and I really want to continue my involvement. I believe that once you are initiated, you are a member for life, not just for 4 or 5 or 6 or however many years you are in college, so why not be active after college.

So now that I've gone on forever and probably bored you all to death, I will wrap up by again saying thank you for supporting me and being my sisters. I love you all and I hope to see you at Florida Day! You've all got the MOTS!

In The Bond,
Laurel =)
