First, I just have to say that I just noticed that I am visitor # 666... AGH!!!!!!! Scary!
Anyways, Kim, I know you probably didn't mean it the way it sounded, but just because you don't have interest in joining SAI doesn't mean that others don't. Just please be aware of what you say and how you say it because while you may not mean any offense to the organization, members of that organization may take offense. Think how you'd feel if someone else was saying the same things about TBS...
Regardless of whether any TBS sister is in SAI or not, regardless of whether you like dual sisters or not, and regardless of whether you like SAI or not, please, please, PLEASE have respect for the organization! We (TBS and SAI) used to be enemies and ever since I can remember, we (TBS and SAI) have been fighting to improve our relations. Once sisters of one organization began to join the other, other members of each organization began to realize it was okay for us to be friends and get along. (I don't know where the animosity came from, I just know it existed for many years! It also used to exist between PMA and KKY) SAI wants to be do things with TBS, and I don't think either organization would like to see their relationships dissolve, so please respect SAI and that they have done things on Sundays for the past 5 years or so.
If Sundays are a must for TBS, maybe scheduling for the early afternoon would be best. But my other suggestion is that maybe you should just cut back on the number of goings-on this Fall. Somewhere along the line things got blown way out of proportion. Not that the new way is wrong, but it's just different. It used to be that if you could make it great, if not, oh well, your loss... not everything was mandatory. Maybe an incentive attendnce policy would help increase attendance at events without making it mandatory- whoever (sister) has the highest attendance at mc events gets a recognition bar bought for them by the chapter or something like that, just an idea.
Well now I'm just rambling and people don't usually listen to anything I have to say because I'm old and I wasn't around much this year. But I really do think that if the band is extra busy and you have less time available to you to do things, that maybe you should consider cutting back on certain activities, or even mc book requirements. I'm sure you will think of something and it will all work out well for you.
In The Bond,
Laurel =)
