My mother lives at a senior retirement home. Monday of this week we had to put down her dachsund of 16 years. She and my dad (when alive) only had dachsunds. She is 94 and lives in her own apartment which has a dog door that opens into a large patio. We are looking to rescue an older female for her companion. We live in Central California
