A lot of this is based on secondhand info I've read in other places, but apparently both DD and GA have said that *IF* they give into all the arm-twisting by CC and Fox and agree to do an eighth TV season of "XF" that they'll be so hardily sick of the concept by that point that they'll *NEVER* want to reprise the characters again. On the other hand, if the show ends after season seven, they'd both be willing to portray Mulder and Scully in future "XF" movies.
So. . .which would you prefer? Another entire season of our beloved show, but with the knowledge that when it's over, it's entirely over? Or have the show end in a couple of months, but with the reassurance that Mulder and Scully will return every couple of years on the big screen?
Personally, I'd rather have a series of movies to look forward to than another season of TV. Mostly because that seems to be the way DD and GA would prefer to handle it and I feel their performances will be much better if they're doing something they want to do rather than something they were forced and/or bribed into doing.
