... As someone who is such an infrequent visitor here these days, my opinion may count for nought ;-) but I feel the need to make a leeeetle contribution:

Prequels are always disappointing, especially if you're going to keep the same actors in the roles. And we *do* want the same actors in the roles, do we not? In a way, I liked Islandgirl's suggestion about putting a story into the gap after the first movie and the next season. I just liked how M & S were with each other then. The Hallway Scene was as much memorable for their big clear-the-air talk as for the near-kiss. I remember feeling really happy that they had addressed their relationship a bit more. The ending had them as a close unit which nothing could break up. There would be a chance to include Krycek too, because his demise (as I'm sure SMH will agree) was very sudden and disappointing.

Having said all that - I would really prefer to see the action develop and a stand-alone story set after Season 9 I feel is the only way to go. By the end of the TV series, we knew Reyes and Doggett enough to have them be part of the ensemble. We were forced to either accept them or stop watching. I chose the former and to a degree enjoyed their time as chief XF investigators. So, I would include them as was suggested earlier in the thread, as the eyes and ears of the FBI, with access to information. I'd like to see a plot with the dark centre of 'Grotesque', the psychological intrigue of 'Pusher' and the exciting jeopardy of the first movie. Throw in some of the humour of 'Bad Blood' and moving dialogue of 'Memento Mori', and you've got a good start.

I'd like M&S to be at the point when we last saw them, because, try as we might to go back in time with their emotions, we can't help but know what water has gone under the bridge. The baby thing does not really upset me - people go through trauma over having babies adopted all the time, and this fact, sad though it is, adds to the history of their relationship. They would deal with it, together. I don't want lovey dovey from our heroes really, just some kind of continuing kinship which all the fans can recognise.

Oh, and I do want a cinema release because I think TXF can compete with any other genre of movie. It still rocks, in my book!
