Well this is an interesting conversation. Should XF be , or not be? That is the question. I think that they should have ended it at the end of S7. But then S8 was interesting waiting to see what was to become of Mulder. As for the end of S8..... That should have been the end of the Mulder and Scully part of the show. That they wanted to continue with D and R is their perogative. Whether we keep watching from here on, is ours.

But they left one hair dangling. They forgot to get rid of Scully and kid along with Mulder. Now I don't agree with this, however, the fact that Scully and William are still in it are the only things making me keep watching [when the season finally starts here] I love Mulder. I want him back and I want to hear about him in S9. I believe this latest ep contained Mulder stuff. MSR stuff. More than we've ever gotten before almost. Mulder 's gone but the show is still shippy or even shippier for us shippers. If the ratings have gone down then that must mean that some people are not hanging on to Scully strong enough or they are not willing to give the new show a go. I couldn't do that. I am too curious. Sure, i will no longer be glued to the set unless I get good reports about an ep from my North American friends, but I will still want to see what it is all about. In fact, with D and R it will be nice to just sit back and watch without pining in agony waiting for the slightest snippet of shipperism to be thrown our way. The pressure is off and although I love Mulder and And Scully and all the XF eps that have gone before, I'm looking forward to becoming a more relaxed casual viewer of the show. And if we get some M-lessSR ship then that will be a nice bonus. If all the people who have dropped off watching the show would at least give it a go then the ratings wouldn't be as bad as they are.
I don't care what the ratings are. Sure I wanted the show to end as a show with the departure of M and S but really when it all boils down to it. .....when I get to the crunch....I really can't live without XF in any form. I love it. I want a reason to continue my liason with all of you people. We can still talk about old eps but you still need fresh fodder to keep the life juices flowing.

Well that is just how I feel right now. I chop and change but I just watched Je Souaite and Requiem and I will watch Dead Alive and Existence in the next day or so and really, I don't want it all to end with that kiss at the end of Existence. I want more of M and S and from what I've heard we got it in this last ep. To me, that's good enough reason to keep the show on the air as long as Scully and William are there. When Scully goes [to be with Mulder ] then I don't really care what they do unless I have grown some sort of attachment to Dogdrool and SPF30+
