that, as you suspect, there is a direct tie-in with XF's declining ratings. Lately FOX has been doing a lot better, ratings-wise, when it runs movies, sports events and other "one time only" broadcasts than when it runs regularly scheduled dramas and sitcoms in the same time slots.
As I think most of you know, I haven't been watching season nine and am not fond of the whole Mulderless/Scullylite concept. Nevertheless, I have to pretty much agree with you that a schedule like this isn't going to make *anyone* happy. I mean, either have XF on in a regular time slot every week OR go ahead and cancel it! This way, they are perturbing both people like me who wished the show would have ended last May (or, better yet, at the end of season seven) *AND* those of you who still want to watch it.
