I think it just proves you know me well. . .at least in regards to comments I might make about the MSR! Actually I think this was an underexplored issue in XF, although they did touch on it a couple of times - at what point does simply being able to make reasonable guesses about what another person will say or do, based on your past experience with them, cross the line to actually having a psychic connection with that person?
As for our dynamic duo's skating abilities: Mulder grew up in New England and he seems to be a pretty all around-athletic type of guy (running, swimming, baseball, basketball, etc.) so I'd presume he can ice skate. And we know he and Scully dance well together. . .remember the end of "The Post Modern Prometheus"??
I'd actually be more concerned about Scully's ice skating ablities, or lack thereof. She grew up on Naval bases which tend, more often than not, to be located in warm weather locales. But she and Mulder have the "look" of a lot of ice skating/ice dancing pairs. . .little tiny woman and tall, long-legged man.
