I'm glad we're all in complete agreement! The wedding ring can be safely ignored. . .just like that idiotic comment in "Terms of Endearment" when Mulder (you know? the character who was identified in the Pilot ep as "an Oxford-educated psychologist") suddenly announced "I'm not a psychologist."
BTW, I'm pretty sure DD only wore the ring in one ep. . .just couldn't remember which one. We'll give DD the benefit of the doubt and assume he was in such a haze of newlywed bliss that he just forgot to take it off. Also, I think it was at a time where they were trying to do post-production stuff on the movie *and* film XF TV eps, so everybody was probably a little less alert than they usually are.
