Found this while cruising the 'net. Comments from me at the end.

******

Back in May, we reported that X-Files screenwriter/producer Frank Spotnitz has signed on to write a second X-files film. Well it looks like co-star Gillian Anderson has said that she has no interest in returning to the series.

In May, Spotnitz told SciFiwire: "David, Gillian and I, and even Chris Carter, all have deals in place, and once the legal issues are over with, we will go on with it."

Well, it appears that no such deal is in place.

FemaleFirst is now reporting that when asked if she would consider a reunion with Duchovny, she snapped: "God no!"

So now fanboys around the world are wondering if an X-Files movie sequel could be made without Anderson attached. I say yes.

I really don't see that it matters whether GA is "on board" or not "on board" with the idea of making another XF movie. She was "on board" for the past several years, but the project never began. I don't think there's ever going to be another XF movie in the same vein as "Fight the Future"; one with DD as Mulder and GA as Scully and the two of them as the main characters. The undeniable economic fact is that they are both simply too old to carry big budget action film in today's Hollywood; expecially since they were never megastars on the order of Harrison Ford, Tom Cruise or Reese Weatherspoon in the first place.
That's not to say I don't think they'll ever be another movie with the word "X-Files" in the title. I'm sure that by 2015 or so, Hollywood will have reached the point of turning 1990s TV series into movies and they'll do another XF movie. But it will either have completely different actors playing Mulder and Scully or it will have the X-Files being reopened with new agents, played by younger actors, with GA and DD *maybe* making cameo appearances as Mulder and Scully.
