...it has to be delivered by characters that I care about. And with all due respect to CC, some of the tripe that he has had M&S deliver has only worked because I was invested in the characters. Imagine "Postmodern Prometheus" or "Ghosts who stole Christmas" being done with other actors. The writing is still there but I for one am snorting at the hokey dialog instead of investing in it. Who else but DD could give those lines a serious delivery? Who else but GA could both sneer at and respond to them at the same time?

I watched the show from the first episode, but it was the exchange between DD & GA in "Ice" that made me a fan. When the characters had that big falling out just before her cancer story started...the writers seemed to have abandoned the chemistry...I left the show...I returned because I saw Redux II (and I became a shipper). Once again, I must say I have very little interest in the shows without M&S in them. Even though I will concede that many of those shows are well written. "Three of a Kind", "Travelers", "Unusual Suspects" even "Sleepless" are all well written but they are not in my video collection.

Who, as a writer, loves good writing but not enough to waste time on a show with no heart. Maybe CC should take a good long look at the fate of "Harsh Realm".
