I am able to go for weeks at a time without internet access or "The X-Files" conversations when the need arises. We usually go on a two-week vacation every summer and are away from home for about a week around Christmastime every year, plus several other "long weekends" (three or four nights away from home) over the course of the year.
I rarely have access to the internet or chances to watch or converse about "The X-Files" during these time periods but, since I'm seeing new sights, or friends and relatives I don't normally see, it doesn't bother me. I would worry about myself if it got to the point where I was gazing at some sort of natural wonder or conversing with a relative I hadn't seen for several months and my mind kept wandering back to the 'net or "The X-Files".
