Hmm, others thought Mulder's sillyness was him doing it for Scully's benefit too but I didn't interpret it that ay. Maybe I just missed it. And I'm usually so good at figuring out what DD's trying to convey! I totally missed the point in "Hungry" that we were seeing M&S rom the monster's point of view. I must be slipping!
Showing so little emotion for Musashi's death could have been there to prove a point about desensitized violence, but I don't like to see Mulder and Scully act that way. Especially Mulder. He's the King of compassion and I didn't like seeing him be rather unfeeling. If they really wanted to make a huge statment maybe they could have had a kid in the ep and shown the effect the games had on him by having him not care that someone had died. They could have gotten another one of those creepy X-Files kids!
