Hi, Duck!
Not to insult you Brits or anything, but the Fourth of July, also known as Independence Day, is when we celebrate the day the United States of America became an independent country, rather than a colony of Great Britain.
In the morning there are usually parades and speeches by politicians in most towns. In the afternoons, a lot of people have picnics, often at lakes or beaches. (Our family went to the home of some friends of ours who have a pool in the backyard) and at night there are fireworks.
