Someone on the Official Site spotted this and it's a bit of a mystery. Take a close look at the third zombie couple a the end we get a close up of dancing. Could that possibly be David and Gillian?

Well I'm glad you both liked this one (hey where's cvl?). It just boggles my mind that some people said they hated it. I'll say I don't think it was as good as DD's first effort but surely this had some merit to it.

On the whole Hollywood fakery theme, I read an interview with DD before this aired and he said this ep woud be like his swan song to the series (at that point we didn't know if the show would be back) and DD said this ep represents everything he loves and hates about The X-Files and I can certainly see that. He seemed to want to throw everything in this as well as the kitchen sink.

I also have a theory about the end scene. Remember the quote from DD that his favorite way to end the series would be the PMP dance scene? I think this ending was his version of that idea.

I agree Stardoe that they definately seem involved at this point! But only at the end. Because this takes place over 16 months and much of it is in the past I think for the earlier stuff they aren't together. But the end scene I think is set post all things and they are a couple now. Walking off hand in hand clearly shows that. It wasn't platonic.

On why Mulder's apartment door was unlocked, could it be that Scully had phoned that she wanted to come over, so then he unlocked the door for her so he wouldn't have to get up again when she arrived? I can see him being lazy and not wanting to interrupt his Plan 9 From Outer Space mantra. And she wouldn't use her key when he was home. They both respect each ther's privacy enough not to barge in. Well that's my idea on that!

I think Mulder knew Skinner was in town didn't he? Or did he? Maybe I need to watch it again now!

I don't know about the bubble bath but I wouldn't put it past DD to swish his hand around as a joke so the fans would think he was doing something! Or maybe it was a joke for his buddy Garry Shandling.
