Subject: Creating a virtual season 8: an XF Game for us to play

Okay, this is kind of inspired by some of the replies to my "IF there's an eighth season" post, and probably also inspired by the fact that I'm obsessed and/or have too much time on my hands. But I thought it would be fun to see if we could come up with 22 "virtual" eps for Season 8 that would allow DD (and, to a lesser extent, GA) to work less but without sacrificing the quality of "XF" eps. I've come up with the first six which should take us through the end of 2000.

8x01: Season Opener. Some sort of mytharc ep, probably written by CC. Features Mulder and Scully, but also has fairly prominent roles for Skinner and the Lone Gunmen. Set primarily in the D.C. area.

8x02: A MOTW ep that's heavy on the MSR. This one would require extensive participation by both DD and GA, to the exclusion of almost all other cast members, but it would focus more on their characters and relationship than on hunting down the monster. Set in either New Orleans or San Antonio. (Because I like those cities, and they're romantic places and M&S have never been to either of them before.)

8x03: A Skinner-heavy ep during which Mulder and Scully appear in only a couple of scenes. Maybe another agent could be added in a supporting role to assist Skinner. Not a woman; if CC and company feel the ep needs a bit of a "woman's touch" they can beef up the part of Kimberly (Skinner's secretary and Mitch Pileggi's real-life wife). What I'd like to see is a minority agent. One of the few things I've disliked about "XF" over the years is the fact that with two minor exceptions ("X" and A.D. Kersch) all the characters are white. In the multi-ethnic society that is America today, I'd just like to see a bit more diversity in my favorite TV show.

8x04: A Lone Gunmen ep. Like "Three of a Kind", only more so. No Mulder; Scully, if she appears at all, just in it for a bit. Just the guys and maybe another appearance by Byers' girlfriend, Suzanne Modeski.

8x05: A Krycek-centered ep. Appearances by Marnita, CSM and Skinner. No Mulder or Scully.

8x06: A Scully family ep. This could feature an appearance by the never-before-seen Charles Scully. We could find out what he's been doing all these years. We could find out what Maggie, Bill, Tara and Matthew have been doing since we last saw them in Season Five. Heavy on Scully; Mulderlite, but somewhat shippy when he does show up. (Similar to "all things" in that regard.)
